Oak Alley Plantation and New Orleans

Now this is a beautiful place. Fantastic history and great people and sights to see.
We stopped at Oak Alley Plantation on our way to New Orleans. It is has been a sugar cane plantation  for hundreds of years and home to many African American slaves. The oak trees were planted 300 years ago and have a life span of roughly 700 years. We had a great tour of the old homestead which has been restored beautifully.
